biking through the streets and canals of this beautiful city i took upon the task of documenting the new thinking on northern europe’s modern architecture, an architecture inspired on boat, water, wind and sustainable design. capable of creating its own energy these buildings seem ready for global warming, raised on stilts and shaped like boats from the canals they are ready to take on rising water levels and become a sort of noah’s arc. they seem beautiful in their own design like free standing sculptures but as a whole and integrated into the city they feel cold and uninviting. as a thought, maybe we are lacking the connection between shelter, workspace, and humans, with all the effort being gone on “saving the planet” and forgetting about simple human interaction… anyway, i still love these spaceships, i mean…. buildings
